SMOKIES 4, LOOKOUTS 1
Thursday’s recap: Stephen Gonsalves dropped to 2-3 on the mound after allowing three runs on five hits and a walk with 10 strikeouts. The Lookouts (39-28) were held to four hits, two of which came from Ryan Walker, who had a double. Their run came when Travis Harrison scored on Nick Gordon’s groundout in the fifth. A two-run home run in the first inning off the bat of Smokies’ Jason Vosler got the scoring started before Tennessee (36-30) brought in two more runs in the sixth and eighth innings to stretch the lead to 4-1.
Next up: Game three of a five-game series at Tennessee is tonight at 7.
Pitchers: The Lookouts will make a game-day decision, while James Pugliese (4-2, 1.00) is scheduled to start for the Smokies.
