Lookouts roll past Barons in Birmingham

Wednesday's recap: Sean Miller, Chris Paul and Andy Wilkins each went 3-for-4 as Chattanooga got a much-needed blowout to stay alive in the Southern League's North Division race. The Lookouts improved to 35-31 with four games remaining in the season's first half. Wilkins launched a three-run home run to right field in the third inning to put Chattanooga up 6-0, and he added a two-run homer to center in the fourth. Jimmy Kerrigan, who joined the Lookouts on Wednesday from high Single-A Fort Myers of the Florida State League, followed Wilkins' fourth-inning homer with a solo shot to right-center.

Next up: Game two of a five-game series in Birmingham, Alabama, is tonight at 8:05 EDT.

Pitchers: Omar Bencomo (5-0, 1.94) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, while the Barons will make a game-day decision.
