Chattanooga firefighters work the scene of a fire at Harbor Freight Tools on Brainerd Road on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019.A tool store on Brainerd Road has been damaged in a fire Wednesday evening, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.
Chattanooga firefighters found light smoke in the upstairs office area of Harbor Freight Tools just before 6 p.m. They managed to extinguish a fire that was burning inside the exterior wall and attic in less than 20 minutes and used salvage covers to limit the amount of water damage, the release states.
All employees and customers had evacuated before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
The fire appears to have been caused by awning renovations from the front of the building. The store was estimated to be open for business Thursday, according to the release.
