Signal Mountain residents can work to improve their bodies and their schools at the same time with Fit and Fab, a community workout class which donates a portion of the class fee to the nonprofit Mountain Education Foundation.

The current session is being held in the Signal Mountain Middle/High School weight room Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 13 through Feb. 12 from 7-7:45 a.m. Classes are drop-in; participants do not have to complete the whole session.

Led by Signal residents Eden Lusk and Marsha Goldberg, the boot camp-style class is a full-body workout incorporating strength training and cardio that’s appropriate for all fitness levels, the pair said.

“We wanted to provide an affordable workout opportunity for people to feel stronger and more confident,” said Goldberg.

The class raised $250 for the foundation in its first two sessions, which are held at different locations on the mountain so they can be open to everyone – not just members of particular clubs, they said.
