Prep basketball roundup: Bradley Central sweeps rival Cleveland

The undefeated Bradley Central girls' basketball team benefited from a stellar performance by Karsee Weber while facing archrival Cleveland on Friday night.

Weber scored 16 points and made four 3-pointers in a 49-35 district win as the Bearettes improved to 6-0. The senior guard also led her team with seven rebounds and three assists and blocked a shot.

Hannah Jones added 12 points and Katelin Ledford made three 3-pointers in the win. Cleveland fell to 5-1 as freshman Lauren Hurst finished with 10 points and a pair of blocks.

Boyd Buchanan 50, Chattanooga Christian 33: Jalisa Sanders led the winning Lady Buccaneers' balanced scoring with 11 points, but Chattanooga Christian's Lilly Brady had the game high with 12.

Notre Dame 52, Silverdale Baptist 47: The Lady Fighting Irish scored 18 points in the fourth quarter as Matiya Maples scored eight late to help close out a big win. Maples finished with 16 points, along with Silverdale's Kelsie Johnson.

Ringgold 66, Coahulla Creek 35: The Lady Tigers (5-0, 1-0 Region 6-AAA) won with four scorers in double figures, led by 14 points from Baileigh Pitts. Rachel Lopez had 12 points and nine assists, while Addi Broome and Drew Burke had 10 points each.

BOYS

Bradley Central 67, Cleveland 58: Four Bears scored in double figures as they pulled away in a district battle that was tied at 48 after three quarters. Josh Wykoff helped secure the victory with eight points and 11 rebounds for Bradley Central (2-3). Gabe Leeper scored 20 points for the Blue Raiders on 8-of-12 shooting.

Polk County 81, Marion County 42: The Wildcats improved to 5-0 as Tucker Patterson scored all 20 of his points over the second and third quarters. Noah Shaw finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Caleb Milen had 12 points and five steals for Polk.

Red Bank 67, Central 50: Haden Spurgeon led the way for the Lions (3-1) with 17 points and six steals, while Jaylen Bates had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Central's Matthew Sharpe scored 17.

Boyd Buchanan 42, Chattanooga Christian 38 (OT): Jacob Shockley, Ryan Lopez and Brodie Johnston led the Bucs to the overtime victory.

Signal Mountain 59, Soddy-Daisy 49: Chris Kennedy had four 3-pointers in a 19-point performance, making seven free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Eagles.

East Hamilton 75, Hixson 43: Zach Harns and Cade Pendleton combined for 33 points for the Hurricanes, who made eight 3-pointers.

Northwest Whitfield 50, Sonoraville 35: The balanced Bruins improved to 5-0 as Will Anderson and Payton Baker had 13 points each and Chandler Jackson chipped in with 12.

Coahulla Creek 47, Ringgold 43: Wil Locke scored eight of his game-high 18 points in the second quarter, and Lucas Mulkey added 10 for the Colts in the Region 6-AAA opener for both teams. O'Reilly Matthews led Ringgold with 16.
