Two people died Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash on Shallowford Road, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Authorities determined through an investigation that a BMW was traveling east on Shallowford Road around 2 p.m. at a high speed when the vehicle “ran the red light at W Shepherd Road and struck a Buick,” the release stated.
The Buick was making a left turn onto West Shepherd Road as it was struck. Passengers in both the Buick and the BMW were pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.
The driver of the Buick was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries, while several arrest warrants were sought for the driver of the BMW, Tyrell Williams, which include vehicular homicide and aggravated assault.
