Tyner’s basketball program has been tough to beat with E’Jay Ward at the helm.

The Rams fifth-year head coach picked up career win No. 100 on Monday with a 50-34 home victory over Chattanooga Christian School. Junior Keelan Jackson shined on both ends of the court finishing with a game-high 17 points while freshman Rodney Henderson scored all 14 of his points in the second half.

CCS trailed 25-19 at halftime as eighth grader Reid Conley scored all nine of his points in the first half.

Under Ward’s leadership Tyner is now 100-35 overall, which includes a 53-9 mark in district play. The Rams (15-9) look to add to their postseason success in 2022 as they have won three straight district championships, two region titles while also making three sectional appearances and one state tournament appearance since the 2017-18 campaign.

“I couldn’t be more appreciative of all my former players, staff and administration,” Ward said. “Without their efforts I wouldn’t have achieved this 100th win. I will continue to build this program one repetition at a time, one practice at a time and one game at a time.”
