Good morning, Chattanooga!
On Tuesday, the Chattanooga City Council approved accepting a $50,000 donation to the Chattanooga Fire Department.
But it won’t be in cold, hard cash. A European company, Tchibo, is gifting the firefighters thousands of dollars worth of coffee.
“It’s not a normal occurrence,” said fire department spokesperson Lindsey Rogers. “We have 20 different fire halls and firefighters who enjoy that kind of fuel for their 24-hour shifts.”
Now for some recent stories:
MLK DAY: Due to COVID-19, instead of a parade, MLK Day will be celebrated in a COVID-19 protocol-compliant gathering at Miller Park and with a week of Zoom events.
NEW DOGS: The American Kennel Club has added two new dog breeds to their purebred lineup.
TENNESSE LODGE: The link was missing yesterday to the story about the ribbon cutting for the new $40.3 million Lodge Fall Creek Falls, so here it is again with a gallery from the event.
