A man has been charged in the January homicide of a woman in North Chattanooga, police said Tuesday.
David Fritts, 43, has been charged with criminal homicide and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Fritts was being held in custody in Monroe County, New York, and awaiting extradition to Tennessee as of Tuesday morning, police said.
Fritts is charged in connection with the death of Angela Young, 48, who was found dead in her home on Merriam Street on Jan. 26. First responders found apparent gunshot wounds, police said at the time.
