Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga announced it is at full capacity and has started a waitlist for families in need.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities on Central Avenue by Erlanger hospital houses up to 28 families in need of housing while their critically ill or injured child is in the hospital, according to a news release from the organization. The organization provides a free, safe place for families to stay where they receive meals, amenities and community. By providing such services, the organization seeks to alleviate families’ immediate concerns so they can focus on their child’s treatment, the release said.

“It is evident that we are here for a reason, and that reason is keeping families near their sick child,” Michael Brown, the organization’s president and CEO, said in the release. “Having a full house means we need your help now more than ever.”

To support the organization, members of the community are asked to volunteer to cook or cater a meal, donate wish list items and/or provide monetary donations to help cover a family’s stay, the release said.

More information about the organization and wish list items can be found on rmhchattanooga.com, and monetary donations can be made to the organization’s Share-A-Night campaign at shareanightchatt.com.
