The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team kept up its recent hot streak, defeating Alabama A&M 85-63 for the Mocs’ sixth win in seven games after an 0-3 start.
The Mocs got standout scoring efforts from Honor Huff and Trey Bonham, who combined for 45 points, and contributions from everyone around them as the team improved to 7-4 on the season with a pair of non-conference games remaining before Southern Conference play starts. Huff hit six 3-pointers and had 24 points, while Bonham added 21 points, four rebounds and a team-high four assists.
Frank Champion and Makai Richards had eight points each, with Champion starting to round into form after missing the first eight games due to injury. The 6-foot-7 senior added three assists and just 17:39 of game time time.
The Mocs never trailed and led by as many as 25 in the game, but needed a 20-2 run to pull away after the Bulldogs (4-6) closed to within six midway through the second half.
