Believe it or not, there’s a “whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on” (in the great outdoors).

Yes, even with the official arrival of winter.

I hope that you (and the late Jerry Lee Lewis) can forgive me for using this song title and analogy, but it fits. About this time every year, many perceived experts start to tell us how hunting season is over because the deer chase is winding down. You will hear about putting gear away, hanging up camo clothes (I wear mine about all year anyway) and making sure your guns are clean before stowing them in the case or cabinet until next year.

To this I say: Baloney! Yes, there are only a few days left on the calendar for 2024, but there is a lot of hunting season left with a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on.

What’s shakin’ right now? Glad you asked.
