Boyd Buchanan senior Hudson Wamack practiced a trick pass with junior running back David Green all week.

And then Green, Wamack and the rest of the Buccaneers put on their best magician act Friday night as they executed three trick plays for touchdowns in a 41-29 home win over Silverdale Baptist, with Boyd Buchanan improving to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in TSSAA Division II-AA East Region play.

Wamack’s career night was highlighted by his 76-yard touchdown reception down the right sideline on a perfect pass from Green out of the wildcat package. The score put DII-AA’s second-ranked Bucs up 34-22 with 9:32 left in the fourth quarter as they ended a run of 22 straight points for the Seahawks.

“We didn’t think we would need that play when we were up 28-0, but Silverdale went on a big run and we had to pull it out to get the win,” said Wamack, who had 140 receiving yards and two scores on six receptions. “Our passing game has come a long way and really helped our offense this season.
