Ringgold raced out to a 20-0 lead on Catoosa County rival Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, then held on for a 41-27 home win Friday night at Don Patterson Field.

The Tigers, after back-to-back overtime losses in GHSA Region 7-AA, improved to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in league play as quarterback Garrett Edgar had three touchdown passes and added a rushing score, Jeremiah Frost had well over 150 rushing yards and Kishaun Taylor scored on two big plays.

Frost got things going when he caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Edgar on the game’s first drive. After a pair of Manual Saldana field goals stretched the lead to 13, Taylor ripped off a 30-yard scoring run. The Warriors (1-3, 0-2) got a little life before halftime when Darian Keefe hit Malachi Brown for a 61-yard touchdown pass.

Ringgold put the game away in the third quarter, though, as Edgar hit Logan Moore on a 12-yard touchdown pass and then capped a short drive with a 1-yard sneak for a 34-7 lead.

Taylor later caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Edgar, while Keefe added touchdown passes to Jared Mitchell and Brown in the second half.
