Metal detectors, Trump tariffs plan and more letters to the editors

Metal detectors bill will be in Nashville

Given the real need for stricter security measures in our schools, there are companion bills (HB 2344 and SB 2765) currently before the Tennessee legislature. These bills if approved will enact the “Protecting Tennessee Schools and Events Act,” requiring walk-through metal detectors in all our schools, which the state will pay for to include shipping, delivery, installation and training.

As such, please reach out to our school board, city and county government, as well as our state senators and house members, to express support for this law before something horrible happens.
