Here’s what’s happening this week in the Chattanooga area.

Cheap eats for dates

A survey of 3,000 single men has determined the fast-food restaurants they’d be mostly likely to take a first date, with Chick-fil-A the winner in 31 states including Tennessee and Georgia. McDonald’s won out in Alabama and five other states. Other top choices were Burger King, Dairy Queen, KFC, Popeyes, Subway, Taco Bell and Wendy’s. “The old-school method of taking a new date out for dinner has been replaced by casual quick-service dates at coffee shops, bars and even fast-food joints,” said Amber Brooks, editor-in-chief at DatingNews.com. “A first date is a risk, and in this economy, modern singles are saving their time and money by opting for a chicken sandwich over a chicken Marsala.” The survey found that 54% of men said they’d be OK with a first date at a fast-food restaurant, while 66% of women in a similar poll said they’d be agreeable.
