ATLANTA — Designated hitter Marcell Ozuna had two home runs as the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 8-6 on Saturday night to sweep a doubleheader and clinch a series victory in the pairing of National League East Division teams at Truist Park.

The Braves won the doubleheader’s opener in the afternoon, 7-1, thanks to a strong outing from rookie pitcher Hurston Waldrep and a key three-run homer from center fielder Michael Harris II.

Atlanta bounced back from Friday’s 5-1 loss. The Braves beat the Marlins 8-6 in the series opener Thursday.

The game was also notable as Jen Pawol became the female umpire to work an MLB regular-season game. She served as a fill-in member of the crew for Saturday’s doubleheader — she worked first base in the first game and third base in the second game — and will do so again Sunday, when she’ll have a more high-profile role behind the plate.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Erick Fedde (4-12) won for the first time in three starts with the Braves. Raisel Iglesias had a perfect ninth for his 16th save of the year.
