INDIANAPOLIS — Falcons general manger Terry Fontenot and coach Raheem Morris are set to enter into a key phase of the offseason as they hope to bring an end to the franchise’s stretch of seven consecutive losing seasons.

The post Matt Ryan-era has not gone well, but moving into the 2025 season, the Falcons finally believe they have their quarterback of the future in Michael Penix Jr.

In addition to scouting the 329 prospects at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Falcons will meet with several agents to help lay the foundation for the coming free-agency period.

The Falcons have the Kirk Cousins issue to handle and then they can move on to handling their own free agents, which include center Drew Dalman, safety Justin Simmons and outside linebacker Matthew Judon. As of last week, the Judon camp had not heard from the Falcons.

Free agency is the first part of the equation to improving the roster.
