Buc-ee’s, the gas station and convenience store chain that’s perhaps best known for its impossibly clean restrooms, is a culture in itself.

In 2012, Cintas, a company that provides cleaning and restroom supplies to businesses, officially recognized Buc-ee’s for having the cleanest restrooms in the country. Buc-ee’s also holds the record for the world’s largest convenience store for its 75,593-square-foot location in Luling, Texas, as well as the record for the world’s longest car wash for the Katy, Texas, store’s 255-foot conveyor wash.

Finding a Buc-ee’s employee in the store is easy, as they are constantly restocking merch, chopping brisket, replenishing “Paddle Tails” in the pastry case and keeping restrooms sparkling clean.

All stores are open 24/7, with most boasting around 100 gas pumps and about half as many toilet stalls. Some locations, including the Calhoun, Georgia, store, offer extra-long car washes and chargers for electric vehicles.

Heading down 1-75 from Chattanooga toward Calhoun, drivers are bombarded with billboards luring them to Buc-ee’s for tasty treats such as kolaches (Czech pastries with a fruit filling surrounded by a yeast dough) and beaver nuggets (flavored puffed corn).
