Jasmine Pace’s mother may now move forward with her $17 million lawsuit against Jason Chen and his parents for allegedly concealing a murder and harboring a murderer.

Catrina Bean filed the lawsuit against Jason, Min Yong and Shu Fang Chen in November 2023, but her lawsuit was temporarily halted until the criminal case was resolved.

A Hamilton County jury found Chen guilty in less than an hour Monday of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse for fatally stabbing his girlfriend, Pace.

Chen was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

His father, Min Yong Chen, and his mother, Shu Fang Chen, live in Nolensville, which is about 20 miles northwest of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
