Rose by any other name

Rob Manfred and Major League Baseball reinstated Pete Rose and Joe Jackson and more than a dozen others from the permanently ineligible list.

It was more than a little surprising, especially considering that reinstatement of Rose specifically has been denied by Manfred and his previous commissioners. Of note here, President Trump recently met with Manfred, and the Donald has consistently voiced his support of Rose being reinstated.

Uh-huh.
