As prep football inches closer and closer, Baylor School continues to add preseason national rankings to its resume.

Last season’s Division II-AAA state champions are ranked No. 12 in the 2026 MaxPreps Preseason Top 25 Rankings, released Monday. This places the Red Raiders five spots behind perennial Georgia powerhouse Buford, and the highest-ranked in the state of Tennessee according to the poll.

Baylor’s first preseason scrimmage will be on Aug. 7 at Buford, last year’s MaxPreps national champion and winners of 13 state titles since 2000. The Red Raiders regular season opener will take place Thursday, Aug. 20 at home against Brentwood Academy, the only other Tennessee school ranked in the Maxpreps’ preseason top 25.
