LOS ANGELES — Bryce Elder allowed one hit in 5 2/3 scoreless innings on the mound, Mauricio Dubón delivered at the plate with a three-run double, and the Atlanta Braves defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-2 on Sunday.
Drake Baldwin and Matt Olson homered for the Braves, who took two of three in a weekend series between National League division leaders by winning the last two games by identical scores after a 3-1 loss Friday that was Atlanta’s third defeat in four games.
The Braves have also won two straight at Dodger Stadium after losing eight in a row there.
“It’s always a litmus test coming in here because you’ve got to go through these guys if you’re going to do anything in the postseason,” Braves manager Walt Weiss said in his postgame news conference. “So it’s always a really difficult place to win games, coming in here and playing the Dodgers. I think we’ve proven that.”
Atlanta is 11-1-1 in its first 13 series this season, dropping two of three against the host Seattle Mariners of the American League West this past week and splitting four games with the NL West’s Arizona Diamondbacks in early April for the only blemishes.
