A man accused of killing his ex-wife entered guilty pleas to charges of first-degree murder, felony murder and aggravated burglary related to the January 2025 murder of his ex-wife, Karen Liner, a well-known real estate agent in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Charlton Craig Liner, 61, was arrested in early 2025 after Cleveland police responded to a 911 call in which a female caller could be heard saying, “Please stop, Craig, please stop,” before the sound of multiple gunshots, according to the affidavit for Liner’s arrest.

Liner was sentenced to life in prison after entering the pleas, according to a Facebook post by the Tenth Judicial District Attorney’s Office, which includes Bradley County.

The initial affidavit for Liner’s arrest said he arrived at a friend’s house with three guns and said something along the lines of, “It’s done, I killed her.” Liner was held without bond after his arrest.
