A new (used) truck is helping a local bicycle nonprofit provide repairs for cyclists across the community.

White Oak Bicycle Cooperative’s Mobile Bike Shop is housed in a truck-turned-mobile garage, which holds everything from tires and brakes to new helmets. And local artist Scott Sawyer painted murals on the truck to accent it.

The co-op refurbishes donated bicycles and provides them for free to schools, government agencies and local nonprofits from its home base in Red Bank. The group also provides classes on safe cycling.

In 2025, the co-op gave away more than 1,100 bikes for free, and earlier this year it announced a partnership with Metropolitan Ministries to open a permanent repair location at the MetMin campus on Rossville Boulevard.
