A healthy Calhoun High School football team is a scary one for the rest of the teams remaining in the GHSA Class AAA playoffs.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 9-3 this season with a comfortable 38-14 win over Atlanta’s Douglass on Friday night at Phil Reeve Stadium, a game that showcased the return of one of the state’s top seniors.
University of Texas-committed tight end Emaree Winston, who has missed more than half of Calhoun’s contests this season due to injury, had six receptions for 93 yards and added a pair of short touchdown runs as the Jackets earned a quarterfinal trip to Peach County next week.
Douglass finished 8-4.
