Shortly after ownership of the Times Free Press changed hands, new owner Craig Fuller made it clear the pages within each section would reflect a rededication to local news coverage.
The vision is to lean in heavily on what matters most to our community, centering coverage around the foundation of family, faith and football.
With that in mind, beginning Oct. 18, that “family” focus will see a significant addition: a weekly column from nationally recognized emergency physician, bestselling author and health communicator Dr. Darria Long Gillespie, MD, MBA, FACEP.
“Dr. Darria,” as her more than 400,000 followers on social media know her (find her on Instagram @drdarria), is a board-certified emergency physician who completed her residency at Yale University School of Medicine, her MD from the University of Rochester and her MBA from Harvard Business School.
She served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and Emory University School of Medicine and is now an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine – Chattanooga.
