Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond donated $10,000 to the Crime Stoppers program Wednesday.
The sheriff, a former program board member, said he “couldn’t think of any more suitable crime-fighting organization to support than Crime Stoppers.”
The money came from drug forfeiture funds the sheriff’s office collects in narcotics cases, he said.
The local Crime Stoppers board formed in 1984.
