Police catch suspects in aggravated robbery

One adult and two juveniles were arrested Monday following the robbery of a couple at 900 Dodson Ave. on Saturday.

David and Carol Holmes called police after three males pointed a gun at David as he was leaving a restaurant after picking up food, said Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

The Holmeses told police that as the trio approached David Holmes, one of them displayed a black revolver while the other two surrounded him so he couldn’t escape.

He handed over his wallet, containing $15 and some credit cards, before the suspects fled on foot, Weary said.

Several hours later, an officer working in the area noticed the trio in the 2000 block of Dodson Avenue, and they were taken into custody for questioning, police said.

The Holmeses’ credit cards, along with a key chain that had several keys on it, were found in the back seat of the officer’s patrol car after the transport, police said.

Christopher Burress, 18, and two 17-year-olds each were charged with one count of aggravated robbery, police said.
