An 82-year-old man has died from his injuries in a Jan. 27 car crash on the 2300 block of North Chamberlain Avenue, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
John Atkins died on Saturday, Feb. 2, after sustaining serious injuries from the crash.
Atkins was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis east on Crutchfield St. on Jan. 27 when he failed to stop at a stop sign. He struck a Honda Accord driven by Jessica Cox, 27, who was traveling south on North Chamberlain Ave., the release states.
The investigation is ongoing. Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call 423-698-2525.
