The man accused of a rape in the Oak Grove area picked the victim up at a bus stop, Hamilton County Court records show.
The woman told police was on her way to work just before 6:30 a.m. on Monday when Tremaine Anderson drove by and stopped at the traffic light at Orchard Knob Avenue and Main Street, court records state.
She said he told her, “Come on, I’ll give you a ride.”
She got into the car and began to get concerned when he took several turns through several streets, but she thought “maybe he was just picking up someone else,” court records state.
After driving a bit more, Anderson turned into an alley behind a business in the 1000 block of East Main Street and pulled a silver handgun on the woman, court records show.
“Just give me some oral sex and everything will be alright [sic],” he said, according to court records.
The woman told police she remembered thinking about her daughter and wanting to live, so she did what he demanded.
Afterward, Anderson backed out of the alley and told her, “Get your m – – f – – a – – out of my car,” according to court records.
She got out of the vehicle and started walking toward her work. Once she reached the area of Central Avenue and East 11th Street, she saw police and flagged them down.
The woman told police she saw a hard hat and green rubber gloves in the vehicle, “like the ones from the chicken plant.”
Police then went to Pilgrim’s Pride and found a vehicle matching the woman’s description, and after speaking with employees, they learned Anderson’s name, court records state.
Investigators then provided the woman with a photo lineup of men with similar characteristics, and she “immediately picked out Mr. Anderson.”
“[The woman] became very emotional as she picked out the suspect,” investigators wrote in the criminal affidavit.
Anderson is charged with aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping.
He remains in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, according to online jail records. His bond has been set at a total of $300,000.
Anderson is also a suspect in the April 23 shooting of a woman on East 23rd Street, but charges have not yet been filed in that case.
As the investigation continues, and if more solid evidence is discovered, he could be charged in that case.
Chattanooga police ask anyone who may have been victimized by Anderson to call 423-698-2525 and ask to speak with a Special Victims Unit investigator to file a report.
