Chattanooga police: Man in critical condition after being shot Tuesday night


A 38-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot Tuesday evening, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Police received a report around 8 p.m. that a person had been shot multiple times and was suffering from a life-threatening injury in the 700 block of East 48th Street, according to the release.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers were told that the incident may have been a dispute between two people that turned violent, the release stated.

Police are working to determine suspect information and ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call 423-643-5100 or submit a tip via the Atlas One App (formerly the CPD Mobile App). Anyone calling in or submitting a tip may remain anonymous.
