What once belonged to Florida now belongs to Tennessee.

The athletic teams of the Volunteers and Lady Vols produced enough success the past few months to earn Tennessee a third consecutive SEC All-Sports championship. Earlier this month, Tennessee became the first Southeastern Conference institution ever to earn league basketball, baseball and softball titles in the same year.

Tennessee not only claimed the overall sports title, which is presented by the USA Today Network, but finished atop the men’s standings. Tennessee’s women finished second to Texas A&M.

“I am so proud of our exceptional student-athletes, coaches and staff, as well as the unwavering support of our fans and donors here on Rocky Top,” Tennessee athletic director Danny White said in a statement. “Securing the SEC All-Sports trophy for the third consecutive year is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.”

Florida has won the award a staggering 28 times but hasn’t since 2017-18, which was the school’s 12th title in a row.
