After weeks of cleanup and restoration work, the popular Guild-Hardy Trail off of Ochs Highway in Chattanooga will reopen Oct. 8.
Lookout Mountain Conservancy leaders say they worked alongside partner organizations to clean the trail after an initial sewage leak in September forced its closure, according to a conservancy press release.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as the trail is restored,” Lookout Mountain Conservancy CEO Robyn Carlton said in the press release. “We have worked tirelessly alongside partner organizations to clean this trail as safely, completely and effectively as possible.”

The trail was closed in September after the sewage leak was discovered, conservancy officials said. The group maintains the trail along with a nearby bouldering park. Both areas are open to the public.
