Time for the fair rides and carnies to start arriving in town. Time to start blocking the streets off. Time for one of the greatest and organized events by a community that I have ever witnessed to begin. Yes, it's the National Cornbread Festival, set for April 24-25.
Five years ago, if I had ever been told of such a thing, I am sure I would have laughed, but was I ever amazed.
Sparkle Day, an event to start preparing our community for the thousands that will visit for the Cornbread Festival, will start at 8 a.m. Saturday. Please come to City Hall to participate.
