Lookouts top Smokies, 11-7

KODAK, Tenn. -- The Chattanooga Lookouts did not score five runs in any of their first seven games but erupted as the first four batters -- Dee Gordon, Elian Herrera, Trayvon Robinson and Andrew Lambo -- combined for 11 hits and nine runs scored in an 11-7 win Friday night against the Tennessee Smokies.

Robinson put the Lookouts up in the first inning with a three-run home run to center, and a two-run double to left by Lambo in the second made it 5-0. After Tennessee (6-2) pulled within 5-4, Jessie Mier's single to center in the fifth scored Lambo and Scott Van Slyke. The Lookouts (3-5) broke the game open in the sixth, opening with a Gordon single, a Herrera single, a Robinson double and a Lambo single.

Game four of a five-game series is tonight at 6:15. John Koronka (0-1, 1.80 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Hung-Wen Chen (0-1, 1.80) lined up for the Smokies.

Before Friday's game, the Los Angeles Dodgers promoted Lookouts catcher Lucas May to Triple-A Albuquerque.
