East Ridge city manager resigns

by Michael Stone

East Ridge City Manager William Whitson this afternoon resigned effective Friday, and the city council has approved his resignation.

Whitson’s resignation comes after public pressure related to a $657,000 deficit in last year’s budget.

Council members had asked Whitson, whom they hired 18 months ago, to resign.

The City Council is meeting to discuss the shortfall.

Now get Waterhouse Pubic Relations to return the money they took. Request copies of Waterhouse PR invoices to see what services were rendered. Then request detailed invoices. Then prepare to sue.

East Ridge, while you're at it, get a new City Attorney. (Hint: Don't get Mike McMahon.)

"Who signs off on these things?"

The same shysters that hire him. It's great these same "honest and upright" politicians are going to let him clear out his desk (and any evidence goes with him).
