McMillan campaign raises nearly half million

Clarksville Tennessee - In a sign of growing momentum, the McMillan campaign announced today that it has posted its strongest fundraising quarter yet for the 2010 election cycle. The campaign has seen an unprecedented increase in donor activity over the last six months, with more than 800 new donors, far exceeding the campaigns goal of 500 new donors.

"As we head into this election, I am grateful to have the active involvement of so many Tennesseans in my campaign, because they understand that we are fighting for the future of our state," McMillan said.

Grassroots donors, particularly online donors, continue to be a strong source of support. In the second half of 2009, more than 800 supporters contributed to McMillan's campaign. Half of those donors contributed $100 or less.

In the last 24 hours before the filing deadline following the TN SCORE forum the McMillan campaign received nearly 100 new contributions. "With this broad base of support that grows stronger everyday, I'm confident we will have the resources we need to win the primary in August," said Joe Livoti McMillan's finance director.
