Canada defeats United States in overtime to win Olympic hockey gold

Sidney Crosby scored a goal in overtime to lift Canada to a 3-2 win over the United States in the gold medal match at the Vancouver Olympics on Sunday.

With Canada on the brink of securing the gold medal in hockey at the Vancouver Olympic Games, United States player Zach Parise scored a goal with less than 30 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score 2-2 and send the match into overtime.

But Crosby came up with the game winner to give Canada the gold medal it wanted so desperately.
