Alton Park Development Corp. in partnership with Southern Adventist University will honor Martin Luther King Jr. for his birthday on Monday, Jan. 18 through "Community Volunteer Service Day." Students from the university's Latin American Club will work with participants of the Neighborhood Environmental College and perform various tasks and duties in and around the Piney Woods Resource Center. The students and participants will use their day off and celebrate by working together and supporting community in honor of respected and fallen leader.
