School closings

Hazardous conditions brought on by incoming weather are causing Hamilton County public schools to dismiss students early today, and schools in several area counties are closed.

Hamilton County schools began dismissing at 11:30 a.m. Buses will run normal routes. After school child care and all evening extracurricular activities are cancelled.

Due to the pending inclement weather and predicted road conditions, Baylor School will close at noon today, January 29, 2010. Busses will run at 12:15.

Cleveland City Schools Secondary Schools are closing at noon.

Cleveland City Schools Elementary Schools are closing at 12:45 P.M.

McCallie is closing today at 12:30. All practices and games scheduled for today are canceled. Buses run at 12:45 p.m.

Sequatchie, Marion and Van Buren county schools will be closed Friday, officials said. Polk County schools will be delayed two hours.

Georgia:

Chickamauga City Schools are dismissing early – elementary at 1 p.m.,middle and high School @ 1:15 p.m.

Dade County Schools will be closing at noon Friday

Catoosa County elementary schools will be closing an noon, secondary schools will close at 1 p.m. Friday.

Walker County elementary schools will be closing at noon, middle and high schools will close at 1 p.m. Friday.

Whitfield County: Elementary schools will begin dismissing at about 2 p.m. Buses will run their usual routes.

Due to weather conditions there will be no after school care today. Please make arrangements to pick up your child after school.

All Whitfield County Schools athletic practices and games after school today and this weekend have been postponed.

Alabama:

Scottsboro schools will dismiss elementary schools at 11:15 a.m, junior high schools will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. and high school at noon. All times CST.
