South Korean dancers visit city

Dancers from Ginger Brown's Academy of Performing Arts represented the United States and performed in the International Junior Art Festival in the Sister City of Gangneung, South Korea, in 2008.

As a part of a cultural exchange, young South Korean dancers are visiting Chattanooga this week to perform at Riverbend.

The Ginger Brown dancers hosted a party for the South Korean youth group on Thursday, where they exchanged ideas on choreography and heritage dances of their country. The dancers performed at Riverbend on the Unum stage on Friday.

The cultural exchange culminates tonight with a performance by the South Korean dancers at the Chattanooga Choo Choo's Centennial Theatre.

The visitors will open at 7 p.m. before "Rock and Roll Spectacular," a family oriented musical celebration of the 1950s-80s featuring local talent from Chattanooga and North Georgia, which starts at 7:30.

Audience members who mention they read this article or bring a copy will receive a $5 discount on tonight's admission price. Tickets are $20 general admission, $18 for senior adults and students, $10 for children 12 and under.
