The Martha Denton Swimming Pool, 406 Cotter St., opens at noon Monday through Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is $3. The pool is available to rent for parties and offers "Swimming After Dark" on Friday and Saturday nights from 9-11 p.m.
Chef Jernard Wells of Ringgold has been nominated as Chef of the Year by "Blacks in Whites," honoring blacks in the culinary industry. He will attend the awards presentation in California on June 29.
Remember, Ringgold has a nice place to relax and enjoy great music. Acoustic Café is located at 61 RBC Drive. Tuesday evenings are open-mic night, while Wednesday through Saturday, local artists perform. The food is good, too. Try the teriyaki wings and the sweet potato fries.
