HARRISON: Chattanooga sculptor John McLeod to work in classroom

Katie Hawkins, a seventh-grade science teacher at Brown Middle School, has brought Chattanooga sculptor John McLeod to work in her classroom. Funded by an Allied Arts grant, Mr. McLeod's expertise is working with a variety of materials to help students better understand the makeup of solid forms and to develop a deeper appreciation of color. He is challenging the students to create three pieces and discover a way to connect them as a whole. Mr. McLeod's work has been shown throughout the Southeast as well as in New York.
