Carolina starting pitcher Matt Klinker threw six scoreless innings, and his one-out infield hit in the fourth inning scored Chris Denove to cap the scoring as the Mudcats beat the Lookouts 3-0. Denove's two-out single to center scored Denis Phipps in the second inning to put the Mudcats up 1-0, and Phipps came home in the third inning on a throwing error by Lookouts shortstop Dee Gordon. The Mudcats improved to 8-18, while the Lookouts dropped to 12-14.

Pitchers: Alberto Bastardo (2-2, 5.19) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Dallas Buck (2-3, 6.29) scheduled for the Mudcats.
Transaction: The Lookouts activated catcher Alex Garabedian from the disabled list and placed catcher Mike Rivera on the temporary inactive list.
