The Winner

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

And every time Mr Bennett sees someone of the Tea Party, he gets nervous, even though the Tea Party is far less violent and more diverse than the 9-11 hijackers were?

AndrewBore, the Teahadists are far scarier than any outside terrorist organization. They go about this country like they are the Brown Shirts from the 30's -- why don't you inform yourself on their terrorist activities?

unfortunately...this cartoon is a scary, very scary illustration of how deluded the average liberal mind works.......the desperate evasion of the truth.

Keep up the good work, Nancy..oh and, by the way, "Where is the witch??"

Francis, the reason people are calling you an islamophobe/bigot is because you are. Hating all muslims because one extremist group attacked us (Ironically Al Queda's weapons and money mostly came from the US govt. Thanks Reagan!) is incredibly bigoted. Besides, the US has done a lot to make them angry at us, from putting a military base in their holy city of Medina, to invading a sovereign country claiming "WMDs".

Actually you can not blame it all on Reagan. When I was in the Air Force we were always selling planes and weapons to Iran, Iraq, Israel and whoever else wanted them. Those are just the ones I remember. We even trained the pilots and mechanics. Aren't we good? And I was in when Carter and Reagan was in office. But it was going on long before that.

I don't find the Middle Eastern garb pictured in the cartoon to be scary, but I must admit it's not very attractive. Compared to Indian saris and Chinese cheongsams, it's like the baggy sweat pants in the closet of womens' fashions of the world.

I think that's what Juan is afraid of. He figures that a woman wearing that outfit is probably a little depressed and perhaps hormonal and will probably yell at him for no good reason. Maybe I'm projecting a little here.

That's funny, francis, I was just reading about Rand Paul, big teabagger, having his thugs beat up a young woman all of about 110 lbs. because she asked some questions and they were afraid she might hurt poor little wimpy rand. I think it would be really interesting for the republicans to regain power in the house and senate. Since they have offered little in the way of plans to turn things around, let them squirm for awhile. In fact, what happens when you give them the power and nothing happens? Obama's second term?

As for the tea party, having O'Donnell in office would be a sight to see. When she finally has to be specific about how she plans to "take our country back" it will be really telling.

Ann Coulter had much to say about the media's treatment of the trifling acts of the TEA Party candidates -- and compared them to the insanity and inanity from the idiots running on the left; the likes of Ba-a-ahney and his emergence from his gay bordello peccadillo just in time to drive the housing industry into eventual self-destruction; Boxer and her deceits, etc., etc.

Clay's cartoon is correct in at least one way [I almost said "right"]; the true monsters are the Lib-Progs dressed in their everyday clothes standing next to the angelically dressed TEA Party person in the middle. No wonder they are frightened of him/her...they have reason for their fear...their days are numbered.

The Rand Paul incident looks a little different if one watches the part of the incident the MSM and leftist blogosphere are ignoring... and considers what would happen to any other disguised person rushing a vehicle containing any other national political figure.

It isn't a right vs. left thing or a Repub vs. Dem thing, it's a VIP vs. potential threat thing.

Act like a crazed lunatic in the near vicinity of a VIP, and you will be treated like a crazed lunatic. You'll get your a$$ kicked is what will happen.

Considering his background, firing J. Williams for speaking a non-politically correct opinion has got to be the most asinine thing I've ever seen NPR do, and I've seen them do many asinine things.

I believe NPR should be cut off from all government funding. They are nothing more than a progressive, statist propaganda outlet, and we the people should not be expected to pay to be treated like mushrooms.

The same with PBS.

Anyone ever heard of a single person injured by a werewolf?

How about Jason?

A vampire?

Frankenstein's monster?

Now, has any one ever seen folks getting their heads cut off on video? How about getting pulverized by 110 stories of concrete and steel crashing to the ground? How about getting blown to bits while they are on their morning commute?

Being afraid of imaginary threats is silly. Not being wary of real threats is idiocy.

That's certainly no woman than, veil [or whatever they call it]. Nor is it a man -- no beard, not even stubble.

The cartoon does fall a little further on Clay's side of the road with your view, though. You are most likely correct. It sure doesn't look like Muslim dress for women, though...or men either. Perhaps it is supposed to be a burka of some kind.

Then again, maybe she is Amish or something.

They way you guys and the media look at anything remotely christian [or even religious, in some cases], it would be insanity NOT to feel persecuted.

I am still waiting for an answer to the question I asked you, oh so long ago, lkeith. Not that I expect one.

You, as with all Lib-Prog Dems, never address the issue -- you just go into attack-dog mode and rip the messenger badly [or at least gum him to boredom].

That way you all can do the little Texas Sidestep demonstrated so well by the sheriff in "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas".

October 27, 2010 at 11:07 p.m.
alprova said...

OMG Rolando, you're obviously not up to speed as to what this cartoon was all about.

That person in the middle indeed represents a Muslim woman. Not all Muslim women wear veils over their face. Had you spent any time around someone of that faith, you'd know that.

Juan Williams was fired by NPR after an appearance on the Monday, the October 25th edition of "The O'Reilly Factor."

Williams told Bill O'Reilly that he supported his statement that "Muslims killed us on 9/11," and that he feels "nervous when he sees Muslims on the same plane" that he is traveling on.

The issue you have accused "Lib=Prog Dems" of not addressing was an extremely ignorant and bigoted statement issued by Juan Williams, who suffered the consequences for it.

To twist this into some attack on Christianity is absurd. Try keeping up with the news now and then, so that when you post, you don't suffer foot in mouth disease.

Rolando, I am a Christian. I follow the teachings of Jesus and I believe that the examples of Christianity being espoused by the far-right today are nowhere close to His teachings. You know, things like tolerance, charity, love and help thy neighbor, and all those other lib-prog ideas. Just for everyone's information,in the New Testament, those words printed in red, are the words of Jesus, which don't sound close, at all, to the noises that the so-called Christian Coalition and their ilk are making. They hide their guilt for mocking Christ's teachings by claiming persecution. They are only persecuted by those who recognize their hypocrisy as such.
