The AARP meets Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Senior Center at 9622 U.S. Highway 11. The speaker is Sharon Howell, who'll offer ideas about how to improve the interior of your home.
It's a big day on Saturday, Sept. 11, at R-Haven Overnight Family Campground on U.S. 11 with the annual Kiwanis Duck Race and the American Legion joining in with the "First Responder" Appreciation Day. There will be horseshoe pitching, basketball shooting and fishing.
The Dade County Historical Society will have a booth to offer information on the history of and members will also be selling Duck Race tickets to help support the program.
