Abandon pagan word Easter
Easter only appears once in the Bible in Acts 12:4. Look up the meaning in the unabridged dictionary, third meaning. Easter was and still is a pagan goddess of the Easter-n sky, worshipping with the sungod rising at dawn in the spring. Read Ezekiel 8:16, all the King Herods were pagans, not Jews, as were their Roman masters.
The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread occurred at times with Roman worship of Easter, a fertility festival. The egg and rabbits were pagan symbols of fertility and were used in the worship of Easter. Satan and his sons, 1 Corinthians 11:13-15, tricked the church over centuries into using the word Easter and its pagan symbols.
Spiritual Christians, please abandon the pagan word Easter, candy eggs, Easter bunny, etc. Worship the Risen Lord Jesus every Lord’s Day, Sunday. Worship Christ in Spirit and in the truth, not Satan and his pagan lies.
Honor God and his Son, Jesus Christ, and you will not be judged by Him on that day, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 and 1 Corinthians 16:22. Maranatha or will you be anathema?
Jesus is Lord of all.

Boards will decide fates in Medicare
On Tuesday, a reader makes the subtle case that Medicare is an inalienable right.
Medicare? According to the Declaration of Independence: ... “they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
I don’t see our Founding Fathers mention surgery, doctors, hospitals, let alone government-paid health insurance. The reader extols the magnanimous nature of Medicare as it was 15 years ago.
Let’s look at it now.
Under the new health care regulations, there will be:
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. It was created within CMS by Section 3021(a) of PPACA “to test innovative payment and service delivery models to reduce program expenditures.” This is a direct quote from the Congressional Research Service, a report prepared for members and committees of Congress, dated July 8, 2010.
Our fates will be decided by boards who want to “reduce expenditures.” Read further and you’ll learn that members of all these boards are political appointees. Where do think their loyalty will lie? With you and your family, or with those who appointed them?
Demonize the insurance industry if you want, but I trust a person with a profit motive far more than I trust a politician.

Support needed to save honeybees
Tennessee Valley Beekeepers Association (TVBA) Mentors Course students placed their queen and honeybees in their new hives on April 10 at the Bonny Oaks site.
This year’s course includes parents with children. The excitement and energy of Sunday was profound. For years, there have been few new beekeepers raising bees due to the die-offs. It is becoming a community effort to keep our bees alive and teach beekeeping without using antibiotics or miticides.
Buying local is important. Supporting our honeybees will allow the farmers to continue to grow clean food for our community. Without the honeybees and pollinators, farmers won’t have the pollination needed to grow all their crops.
Be sure and catch “Queen of the Sun” movie (www.queenofthesun.com/about/trailer/), part of the Awake and Engaged Film Series, tonight at University Center at UTC, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
We applaud TVBA, Gaining Ground (Benwood Foundation), Natural Awakening Magazine, and Slow Food on Campus for their community support to help save the honeybees.

Oh No. Another thumper telling people to give up on the REAL symbols of Spring rebirth, handed down in Pagan mythology, and to suspend reason, deny reality and worship the mythical phantasm called jesus. Today, not only do these people want to subjugate other beliefs, they see nothing untoward in taking over public parks such as Coolidge and Chickamauga as venues to practice their rituals.
While an easter egg hunt is a nod to the Pagan origins of fertility rites originating around the Spring equinox, a christian religious service in exclusion of citizens of other beliefs amounts to government endorsement of one religion over others. It is a failure of our city to respect the rights of ALL its citizens. The christianists have churches dedicated to the purpose - they should use them.
The use of Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park by Oakwood Baptist Church is offensive to every visitor denied their opportunity to enjoy Wilder Field and associated historic monuments for their intended interpretative purpose.
We had hoped our new park Superintendent, with her background rooted in interpretation, would have ended this inappropriate incursion into one of America's premier historical parks.

People are under the misconception that Medicare is free. Seniors and others who have Medicare(not Medaid) insurance pay a montly premium for coverage. That monthly premium equals to and sometimes exceeds what many employees pay into their employment offered healthcare insurance premiums. In fact, for many employees in the private sector their healtcare is offered free through their employers. Only when those employees add a dependent to their coverage do they must pay a premium, which is often deducted from their paycheck.
O'Connor said, "Demonize the insurance industry if you want, but I trust a person with a profit motive far more than I trust a politician."
I used to work for an insurance company. Their profit motive means they are directly opposed to paying your claims. I guess you can trust them; trust them to always try to screw you.
"Guess what, in America we have freedom OF religion, not FROM religion." What's the difference?
@Libertarians4Freedom "The majority has rights to, librul. 90% of Americans are Christians"
Did you know 86% of percetages are made up on the spot?
Yeah.
sangaree...i like your rational...opt out of system and get rid of that 1500 pick-up truck and get you a horse and wagon....dont be just a wind-bag... walk the walk brother!!!...i know some herb doctor...or maybe you will learn how to make you own medicine from leaves, barks, and other plants....be AUTONOMOUS!!!!
L4F,
It is not against the law to erect religious symbols on Private Property. You may have noticed that huge crosses have been erected near Lee Highway and another near I-75 between here an Knoxville. No one is trying to force anyone to take them down. You are free to practice any religion that you wish.
What is illegal is to put use Taxpayers money to put up religious symbols or to put them on Public Property. Regardless of what the Majority wants.
Please explain how the observance of Black History 'costs' you anything? Please explain how allowing Gay couples to Marry will 'cost' you anything. Allowing others to exercise their rights does not infringe upon your rights. Allowing me to post my opinions on this site does not infringe upon your right to post your opinions.
The Bill of Rights was written to prevent the Majority from restricting the rights of the Minority. If the Majority in Tennessee voted that only White Christians could own guns, would that be ok with you just because it was the will of the Majority?

I suspect that would suit L4F just fine.
