A bomb threat to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen led to the evacuation of about 50 people from the building Sunday afternoon, according to Chattanooga police.
The threat was called in to the kitchen anonymously around 1 p.m., said police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary. She said police combed the area and no explosive devices were found.
Though Weary said police have to respond to bomb threats fairly often in the city, there’s no record of such a threat being called into in to the Community Kitchen.
The episode lasted a little over an hour, one worker at the Community Kitchen said.
