KNOXVILLE - Needing immediate help in its secondary, the University of Tennessee got some good news late Monday night.
Byron Moore, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound defensive back out of Los Angeles Harbor Community College in Wilmington, Calif., announced his commitment to the Volunteers on a California-based online radio show.
Moore, who had signed with Southern Cal out of high school, chose UT over Miami. He is the nation's No. 5 junior college prospect according to Rivals.com. He plans to enroll at UT in June as a redshirt sophomore.
Moore officially will sign with the Vols on Wednesday, national signing day.
