Defensive back Moore chooses Vols

KNOXVILLE — Needing immediate help in its secondary, the University of Tennessee got some good news late Monday night.

Byron Moore, a 6-foot-1, 205-pound defensive back out of Los Angeles Harbor Community College in Wilmington, Calif., announced his commitment to the Volunteers on a California-based online radio show.

Moore, who had signed with Southern Cal out of high school, chose UT over Miami. He is the nation's No. 5 junior college prospect according to Rivals.com. He plans to enroll at UT in June as a redshirt sophomore.

Moore officially will sign with the Vols on Wednesday, national signing day.

Good for Mr. Moore and good for the Volunteers. He should be able to make immediate impact.
